Julia is a graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University and received her Master’s in Social Work From Fordham University.
She went on to obtain certification for her advanced training at the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy.
Julia has experience working with individuals, families and groups. She has expertise in many areas including: Aging, Caregiver Support, Trauma-Informed Care, as well as working with chronic pain, illness and disabilities.
In addition, Julia has years of experience providing clinical supervision to social workers, mental health practitioners and other counselors. In this supervisory capacity she has worked both internally, and as an outside consultant, in many different settings – including governmental agencies. Julia is SIFI certified and has mentored and provided supervision for BSW and MSW candidates as a Field Learning Supervisor in the academic and educational setting. She is a respected consultant in this role because of her profound knowledge and professional integrity.
Julia also creates and provides trainings for organizations and professionals on variety of topics ranging from the practical and pragmatic, and more esoteric and emotional aspect of the work.
Her “Train -the-trainer” programs, workshops for caregiver, nurses, staff and clients has grown from her ability to understand, develop, implement and deliver these relevant topics to the appropriate audience.
